Site Reliability Engineer (Permanent)

Role Purpose:

The Site Reliability Engineer will be a senior member of the operations team. You'll ensure the White Label Dating platform, which supports over 10,000 sites and millions of members, is performing well, is stable and is available at all times. You'll have a strong attention to detail, be reliable and dependable, have great people skills and be able to communicate clearly. 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure platform performance, availability and stability 
  • Respond to diagnose and resolve unexpected service issues
  • Communicate incidents in a timely and clear way internally and externally
  • Script and automate manual processes
  • Manage deployments to all environments
  • Share in the on-call rota and be an escalation point for incidents

Requirements and Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of Linux system administration (CentOS or RHEL)
  • Good scripting ability in Bash/ZSH, and preferably Ruby
  • Configuration management using Puppet
  • Source control via git
  • Web server management with NGiNX
  • Database installation, configuration and replication using MySQL
  • Experience of working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Experience working with hosting service providers
  • Degree in related field desirable, or equivalent experience

Desired / Ideal:

  • Experience with VMWare
  • Experience with AWS, particularly Route 53 and S3
  • Knowledge of containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance v3+

Location: 

Windsor, Berkshire.

Hours of work: 

The hours for this role are Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm.
